Join TMC for their first general meeting of our club year.  Our guest speakers represent Moms Demand Action (MDA), a non-partisan, national, women’s organization which originated following the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut on December 14, 2012. These shootings claimed the lives of 26 victims – 20 six and seven year-old children, and six adult staff members.

MDA’s members include gun owners, gun violence survivors, and people from all walks of life, not just “Moms” but as they refer to “Mothers and Others”. It has established chapters in every U.S. state and has nearly 10 million supporters throughout. Its emphasis is placed on “gun safety” and “gun sense” in America not “gun control”.

The presentation will be shared by two representatives, Leslie Moran and Jaime O’Brien, and will center around a “BE SMART” program of MDA and the “ERP0 Law of 2019” (Extreme Risk Protection Order) of New Jersey, which ranks 6th in the top 10 states with strictest ERPO laws. This law temporarily prohibits individuals who pose a danger to themselves or others from purchasing and possessing firearms. Each of these subjects are of grave importance and the MDA organization is proactive in its participation to keep all Americans informed and safe.

Dinner is served at 5:30 PM, Business meeting at 6:30 PM and the MDA Program will start promptly at 7:00 PM.

The 7:00 PM program is free to all attending.  If you choose to join us for dinner and stay for the program, their is a $25 fee payable at the door.
