Anne Lawless, our Public Issues Chair, coordinated with the Madison Memorial Day Parade Committee to get Thursday Morning Club added to the list of marchers this year!
As you can see, we had a great time honoring our Veterans on Memorial Day, May 28th. This was our first time participating in the Parade, with about 20 members representing the Thursday Morning Club. It was a great experience and the Public Issues Community Service Program has been officially added to the roster of the Parade Committee. We are looking for an even bigger representation next year, 2019, so mark your calendars now:
Monday, May 27, 2019!!
After the parade we headed back to Boro Hall. In the absence of our Education Chair; Cathy Gotliffe, Anne Lawless presented the Education Community Service Program’s three Amazon Gift Cards to the winners of the “What Memorial Day means to Me” contest: one for Essay, one for Art, and one for Poetry.
The Thursday Morning Club would like to thank all of our current and retired military for their services to our great country.
Our next big event will be our annual garage sale fundraiser. Doors will be open*:
Thursday 6/14/18: 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM
Friday 6/15/18: 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM
Saturday 6/16/18: 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
*Please no early birds! Doors will open exactly at their stated times.
All proceeds will go to the various programs offered at the Madison Community House, which include meetings and events for civic organizations, includes camps and enrichment classes for young people, as well as special public events. The Madison Community House is also home to a nursery school and Before and After School Child Care Programs.
Our BASCC Program (Before and After School Child Care) will be holding summer camp starting Monday 6/18/18 and ending on Friday 8/17/18 for all elementary school aged children going into K-5th grades. Our camp runs from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM and is held at the Madison Community House. There is no camp during the 4th of July week.
