Thank you to our last guest speaker, author and NJ native, Laura Schenone for being our first speaker at our Author’s Lunch held last Saturday 3/10/18. It was a wonderful relaxing time for all. She spoke of her most recent book “The Dogs of Avalon: The Race to Save Animals in Peril“.
After adopting an Irish sight hound, Laura discovered a little-known fight to gain justice for greyhound dogs and for all animals.
She is also the author of two other non-fiction books: “A Thousand Years Over a Hot Stove”, which won a James Beard Book Award, and “The Lost Ravioli Recipes of Hoboken“, a memoir of her Jersey roots. Learn more about Laura Schenone on her website:
Decorations were very creative and of course lunch was catered by our own Catering Dept. and was delicicious.
We look forward to our next event; our General Meeting on Thursday April 6th at 6:30 PM. Our guest speaker will be another NJ native Linda Pastorino, “Antiques Talk and Mini Road Show” Linda is the owner of Singkiang located in Chester, NJ.
